This is horrible news.

George Strait’s older brother, John Strait Jr., otherwise known as Buddy, was found dead in a San Antonio hotel room this past Friday, April 10th.  A cleaning crew at La Quinta Inn found and authorities are saying he was in town on business.

Investigators believe he died of natural causes.

This is so sad and George I am sure is crushed…. He should be on top of the world after his big honor last Monday night receiving the honor of “Artist of the Decade”.

My prayers go out to the Strait family.

Taylor Swift at the George Strait:  Artist of the Decade Tribute….

Okay bow your heads for this one…

George Strait, Randy Travis, and Richie McDonald are a few of the mainstream country artists that have been nominated for a Dove award.  The Dove awards honors Christian and gospel music’s studs…it’s like the Grammy’s for Christian music.

Mr Travis is up for Best Country Album for Around the Bend and Richie is up for the same award for his inspriring CD, I Turn To You.  George Strait is nominated for his song, “I Saw God Today“.

The awards are taking place in Nashville April 23rd.

The best way to warm up the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium is let George Strait sing in it… DUH!

On June 6th, King George will be joined with Reba, Blake Shelton, and Julianne Hough for the first concert ever thrown in the new stadium.

The new stadium features GINORMOUS HD video screens, a sweet retractable roof, and seating for 100 thousand people.

If George sells out that stadium…. he is def the man.

Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton are set to pair up again for a new album.

Holy caaaamoley Batman…This is better than if Michael Jordan and Scotty Pippen paired up for some hoops again.

The new album will be produced by hitmaker Tony Brown.  I definitely see this being a good album with Tony producing the tracks…. He has worked with George Strait, Reba, and Vince Gill… um yea… this WILL BE a good album.

Nothing beats “Islands In the Stream

I really just hope that if they sing any of their album live, Dolly will wear her hair like that again.

Country music was well represented at last night’s Grammy’s.  Here are the big winners:

George Strait – Best Country Album

Carrie Underwood – Best Female Country Performance

Brad Paisley – Best Male Country Performance, Best Country Instrumental Country Performance

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss – Best Country Collaboration

Sugarland – Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals, Best Country Song

I am in shock this was George Strait’s first Grammy.  The guy has had over 50 number one hits.

Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert has added to her own personal zoo.

She’s added a horse which she’s named, “Zeus Troubadour” after the Greek God and of course, the God of country music, George Strait.  I think that’s pretty clever Ms. Lambert.

She wrote on her blog, “He’s supposed to be Blake’s horse, but I think he is chicken.  I gotta get him a six pack to hang on his saddle horn and maybe that will get him going.”

I think she should start charging fans and make it a petting zoo… How cool would that be??!?!?!
